Thomas Rid’s contact with David Hedges, the administrator for ‘HRTEST’ –a company server compromised by state-sponsored hackers in the late ‘90s– enabled a modern day reconstruction of the infamous Moonlight Maze attacks against U.S. government, military, and university research networks.
A Piece of History
‘HRTEST’ is now a permanent part of the International Spy Museum’s cyber espionage exhibit.
